Treatise on geography which begins with a short introduction and contains notices on the most remarkable places in each of the seven climates. The names are arranged in alphabet order. The author, ʿAbd al-Raschîd Ṣâliḥ ibn Noûrî al-Bâkawî, born in باكوية or Bacou, a city located on the shores of the Caspian Sea, says, in the article devoted to this city, that his father died in 806 AH (1403-1404 AD). In the preface of our copy, the ethnic name of the author is written الباكوسى. The title at the top of the volume: تلخيص الاثار و عجايب الملك القهار is not accurate; The copyist misread or misunderstood these words: القهّار, which end the treatise. M. de Guignes gave a notice of this work in the second volume of Notices and Extracts. On fol. 75, we read a piece of verse rhyming in فه, and attributed to an Egyptian shaïkh, named Moḥammad al-Bakrî. On fol. 76 there is a note on the poet Al-Motanabbî. Ms. dated 1023 A.H. (1614 A.D.).
