See the typewritten notices of Georges Vajda for the Arabic manuscripts 6110 to 6669., Ayman Fu'ād Sayyid, Maṣādir Taʾrīẖ al-Yaman, 1974, , p. 202.. Yemenite Neskhi, dated 1153 AH / 1740/1741, copied for ʿIzz al-Din Mohammad ibn Yahya ibn al-Hosaïn ibn ʿAbd Allah al-Hosainï. Scrapings f. 11 and passim. The Maʾathir al-abrar fi tafsil moudjmalat djawahir al-akhiar, or al-Lawahik al-nadiyya lil-hadaïk al-wardiyya, commentary, by Badr al-Din Mohammad ibn ʿAli ibn Yousouf ibn ʿAli al-Rouhaïf al-Farid, on the Qaṣīda entitled al-Bassamat al-soghra, by the sayyid Sarim al-Din Ibrahim ibn Mohammad ibn ʿAbd Allah ibn ʿAbd al-Hadi ibn Ibrahim. The introduction to the commentary forms a panegyric of the caliph ʿAli, son of Abu Talib; the author seeks to demonstrate that the Sunnis borrowed their doctrines from ʿAli, and that consequently, they have no right to qualify the Shiʿites as schismatics. The al-Bassamat al-soghra was written for the glorification of the Zaidi imams, in imitation of the Bassama of Ibn ʿAbdoun, in the same meter, and with the same rhyme; the author dedicated it to the imam ʿIzz al-Din ibn al-Hasan (879-900 AH); there we find (folio 16 recto) a presentation of the history of the sovereigns of Yemen, who were Shiʿites, in the form of a very dry list of their reigns until the year 914 of the hegira. Badr al-Din Mohammad commented on it using a considerable number of Arabic stories, and he carried his gloss up to the year 914 AH, the date of the death of Sarim al-Din Ibrahim (fol. 255 verso). This work is followed (folio 256 recto) by an analogous commentary, entitled Moulhak fil-Bassama, on a poem by Sarim al-Din Daoud ibn al-Hadi ibn Ahmad ibn al-Mahdi ibn ʿIzz al-Din ibn al-Hasan ibn ʿAli ibn al-Mouayyad ibn Djibraïl; this commentary extends until 1014 A.H.
