Acquisition mark of deacon Miḫā’īl ibn al-Ḫūrī Mūsā al-Suryānī in 1764. Notice in French by Garcin de Tassy on the flyleaf. Offered to the Asian Society by Mr. Rousseau, French consul in Baghdad (Journal Asiatique, t.I, Session of June 6, 1822, p. 116). Christian oriental binding without flap, spine with raised bands. Cold stamped plates. Frame decorated with a border with a plant motif, inside another frame is composed of a border with the same plant motif; in the band between the two frames, plant bouquet on the spandrels and in the central axes. In the central rectangle, fleurons on the spandrels; in the center diamond formed by four florets. Edge in red.. Transliteration standard: ISO 233-2:1993, Information and documentation -- Transliteration of Arabic characters into Latin characters -- Part 2: Arabic language (the character ¨t is not used).
