Leiden, Köln, 1970 (Handbuch der Orientalistik, I Abteilung, Ergänzungband VI, 1), p. 178., See the typewritten notices of Georges Vajda for the Arabic manuscripts 2760 to 3184.. First volume of the commentary of Qoṭb al-Dîn Maḥmoûd ibn Masʿoûd al-Schîrâzî on the Canon of Avicenna We read, on fol. 3, that in the year 681 A.H. (1282-1283 A.D.), the author was busy gathering the materials for his work. He died in 710 AH (1310-1311 AD). The commentary begins with these words: ان اولى ما افتتح به خطاب و اخرى ما ابتدى به كتاب حمد الله المنعم الخ. Avicenna's text is written in red ink. A note by S. de Sacy, at the head of the volume, notes that we find there the preface to the Canon, as well as the first ten pages and three lines of the eleventh page of the Rome edition, and, in addition, pages 33, 34, 35, 36 and fourteen lines of page 37 of the same edition. A treatise on fevers, in fifteen chapters, ends the volume. The author explains the reasons which determined him to insert this treatise in his commentary.
