This work, better known under the title سيرة الشامى, is a very detailed history of Mohammed, his wars, his habits, his miracles, etc. The writing of this work was completed in 999 A.H. (1590-1591 A.D.), as we learn from the subscription of the ms. 1996, which contains the last volume. However, we read in Hadji Khalfa (vol. III, p. 380) that the author died in 942 AH. The work begins with these words: الحمد لله الذى خصّ سيدنا محمدا صلعم باسنى المناقب. The preface, which ends with the list of authors whose writings were used, is followed by the list of chapters which fills nearly sixty pages. These chapters, classified in the order of subjects, are arranged under one hundred and eight titles or sections (جماع ابواب). The present volume, the first of the work, ends with the eleventh section, entitled بدؤ اسلام الانصار Ms. dated the year 1061 A.H. (1651 A.D.).
