This work is described under No. 169 of the Supplement; the present translation is preceded by a dedication to the Count of Maurepas; the author, who does not give his name, recounted the revolutions that happened in Bosnia and the resulting wars between the years 1149-1152 AH (1736-1739); this character is the famous renegade Basmaǧi Ibrahim Efendi, that is to say Ibrahim the moutafarikka; he made extensive use of the Memoirs of el-Mouvelled ʿOmar Efendi, who was originally from Bosnia. Hakim Oghlou ʿAli Pasha, who was grand vizier in 1743, was governor of Bosnia when war broke out between the Empire and the Porte, and he is the hero of this story.
