This work, which is also referred to by the title of تذكرة فى مناقب ابى الوفاء, is authored by one Schihâb al-Dîn Aḥmad ibn ʿAbd al-Monʿim al-Schabrîsî al-Wâsiṭî. It is a very detailed story of Tâdj al-ʿÂrifîn Abou ʾl-Wafâ Moḥammad, a holy character who had reached a very high station in the spiritual life. Born in Koûsân, a town located in that part of Kurdistan which borders on the upper Zâb, he died in 501 AH (1107-1108 AD), at the age of eighty-three. The second part of the work deals with the parents of Abu ʾl-Wafâ, his director in the spiritual path, Shaikh al-Schanbakî (الشنبكى) and his disciples. There are many exhortations, moral poetry and edifying anecdotes. The present ms. consists of two volumes, bound together; but the last leaf of the first volume is missing. Ms. dated 878 A.H. (1473-1474 A.D.).
