The author visited Jerusalem in 874 A.H. (1470 A.D.). The work, composed in 875 AH, contains seventeen chapters: 1° on the various names of this city; 2° on the construction of the temple by David and Solomon; 3° on the virtues of the Stone (Al-Ṣakhra); 4° on the particular merit of the prayers made in Jerusalem; 5° on the virtues of the water which comes out of the base of the Stone; 6° on the nocturnal journey of Mohammed; 7° on the wall surrounding the mosque; 8° on the wells and springs located near the mosque; 9° on the capture of the city by the caliph ʿUmar; 10° enumeration of the prophets who entered it; 11° on Abraham; 12° on the temptation of Abraham; 13° on the cave in which he is buried; 14° on Ishmael; 15th story of Lot; 16° on what is said about the tomb of Moses; 17° on the prerogatives of Syria. The preface begins with these words: الحمد .لله الذى جلت نعماؤه عن الاحصاء In this preface, the author indicates the works on the same subject that he has consulted. M. de Guignes published a notice of this work in the Recueil des Notices et Extracts, vol. III, p. 610. Ms. dated 973 A.H. (1566 A.D.).
