Notes
A complete copy, written in black ink, and the copyist used red ink to write some important words, with many explanations and comments on its margins. The footnotes of this poem were placed around its verses in precise handwriting, and its lines go in different directions. At the beginning of folio 1a is a reading witnessed and approved by Sheikh Muhammad bin Omar bin Khalil al-Turkmani, with his chain of transmission mentioned to al-Shatibi, the author of the poem. It is a reading dated Shawwal 10, 724 AH, which he authorized. His student, Ali ibn Muhammad ibn Yusuf al-Qunawi, copied the manuscript, and Sheikh Muhammad ibn Ali ibn Ibrahim al-Amayuti attested to it. The beginning of the copy is two pages containing benefits in the science of readings in the copyist’s handwriting, and at the end of the manuscript are poems from al-Shatibi’s poetry, and multiple benefits and supplications. The copy has one in the name of Saad Hafez ibn Muhammad ibn Mahmoud, and the second in the name of Muhammad ibn Ahmad al-Azhari, and others.
