Notes
21 x 14.5 cm. The beginning of the manuscript: Praise be to God, who has beautified His servants with words and sayings, and has favored them with what He has taught them of the wonderful wisdoms and collections of proverbs. So the poorest of His servants, the Most Merciful, Mustafa bin Ibrahim, may God forgive them both, the Most Gracious, says: The best words and the most delicious words are the proverbs issued by the great scholars and the honorable wise men, based on the most ancient tooth. There is a golden table on the first page, with golden decorations and colored after it. The text is written in black ink, and the dividers are in gold, and the names of the chapters, some phrases, and warning lines are written in red ink. On paper 38 are some transfers, possessions, and restrictions. Brockelmann incorrectly dated the author's death to the year 1024 AH. End of the manuscript: Only the traitor or the madman will accept honesty. The traitor is afraid. He who betrays is afraid. Slander against an innocent person is heavier than the heavens. Then he collected, arranged, and commented on the proverbs, with the help of God Almighty, at the end of Jumada al-Akhira of the last year of the tenth century.
