Notes	It is stated on the title page of this manuscript that it is (A summary of the Tabaqat of Abd al-Ra’uf al-Manawi), and it is mentioned that among his books is (Al-Kawkab al-Durri fi Takatat al-Sayyidah al-Sufi), also known as the Tabaqat al-Minawi al-Kubra, of which the manuscript in our hands is likely to be an excerpted part of it related to the biography of the Prophet only. It is a modern, good and complete copy, corresponding to the original from which it was copied, and ((Written with the drawing of the library of Sheikh Abd al-Warith, the Mufti of the Shafi’i school of Jurga). )) [Upper Egypt], the text was written in dark brown ink, and the paragraph heads, doors, stopping points, and warning lines were written in red ink on a brown-colored, European-made kerchief, in which the parallel lines and the primitive commercial watermark appear. The copy was badly damaged, but the text was still mostly legible.
