Notes
An incomplete copy of the beginning begins with an explanation of the end of Surat Al-Kahf. It was written in black ink, and the names of the surahs of the Qur’an and the interpreted verses were written in red ink. The pages are bound in gold, and some of the margins have comments and corrections. In the left margin of the first page appears the seal of the bookcase of Sultan Abd al-Majid Khan, an endowment seal in the name of Muhammad Raif, the governor of Jeddah, and a third seal that is unclear but dated to the year 1271 AH, and an appendix. At the end of the copy is a page containing a quote from Al-Fanari’s interpretation of Al-Fatihah.

... من الجنة والناس بيان للوسواس أو للذي أو متعلق بيوسوس أي يوسوس في صدورهم من جهة الجنة والناس وقيل بيان للناس على أن المراد به ما يعم الثقلين وفيه تعسف إلا أن يراد به الناسي كقوله تعالى يوم يدع الداع فإن نسيان حق الله يعم الثقلين عن النبي عليه السلام من قرأ سورة المعوذتين فكأنما قرأ الكتب التي أنزلها الله كلها تم.
