Notes A complete copy, containing the title page (The abbreviated Book of the Compilation of Physical Benefits from the Book of What the Doctor Cannot Be Ignorant of, the Brief Book of the Book of Al-Jami’ by Ibn al-Bitar on the Properties and Benefits of Vocabulary), and below it is also in the copyist’s handwriting (This book, which is the Collection of Physical Benefits, is attributed to Sheikh Dawud Al-Basir Al-Antaki, the author of the ticket, and it was said that it is by Al-Qusouni, which is more apparent. As for its origin, which is what the doctor cannot be ignorant of, it is by the scholar Yusuf bin Ismail bin Elias. Al-Juwayni, known as Ibn al-Kutbi al-Baghdadi al-Shafi’i, may God have mercy on him, and its original origin is Ibn al-Bitar. The index at the end of the book consists of two leaves with the following text below them (The index has been completed. Praise belongs to God, and Lord of the heavens, and Lord of the earth, Lord of the worlds, and to Him belongs glory in the heavens and the earth, and He is the Mighty, the Wise. Tuesday night of the twelve nights that passed in the month of Shawwal in the year 1354, three hundred and thousand and fifty-four AH, for whom glory and honor belong, Ahmad Khairy) While the first page bears the seal of Ahmed Khairy and the date of the manuscript’s arrival in the library in the year 1353 under the number 27 Medicine, and its attribution to Al-Qusawi is inaccurate, as Al-Qusawi’s book is in 60 chapters in the Turkish language, the beginning of which is (i.e. a wise and knowledgeable man who did not teach Hakamanda, perfect and eternal). The Iraqi Museum Library keeps a copy of him entitled (The Benefits of People in Medicine) under the number 13092. The text was written in shiny black tan ink. While the titles of the chapters and the names of medicines and herbs are in red ink, the text was written on European-style paper bearing a watermark, which is a shield with a crescent inside and its inner tendon in the form of a human face, and on another paper a shape consisting of floral decorations topped with a shield.
