A complete copy, written in black ink, and some words were written in red ink, with traces of moisture and restoration. The manuscript is complete with three pages at the beginning and twenty pages at the end. The handwriting varies, and the one who completed the manuscript added a chapter to it from the history of Ibn al-Shihna al-Kabir mentioning Tripoli. There are many explanations and comments on it, especially on the first pages. It was written in the year 1203 AH, and it has inscriptions at the beginning and the end for the readers of the book, and the date of their reading of it is 1159 AH, including the date of his birth. This book is attributed to him, and the scholar Muhammad Raghib al-Tabbakh has proven in his great history: A`lam al-Nubala’ in the History of Aleppo al-Shahba that the book al-Durr al-Mukhtab in the history of the Kingdom of Aleppo is not by Abu al-Fadl Ibn al-Shihna, but rather by Abu al-Yaman bin Abd al-Rahman al-Batrouni, who died in the year 1146 (see the first part, p. 31 of the book A`lam al-Nubala’, see Dictionary of Publications 1/135.
