Notes
26,8 x 17,3 cm The beginning of the manuscript: The sheikh and jurist Abu Abdullah Muhammad bin Mansur bin Muhammad bin Al-Fadl Al-Hadrami, may God Almighty be pleased with him, told us in his mosque in the ports of Alexandria, a reading from me to him twice in the year five hundred and eighty-seven. He said: Abu Muhammad Abdullah bin Al-Walid told me.... He said: Abu Ishaq Ibrahim bin Muhammad bin Sufyan Al-Faqih told us: Abu Al-Hussein Muslim bin Al-Hajjaj told us... He said: Praise be to God, Lord of the Worlds. ...Moisture and earth did not affect the reading of the text. It contains some corrections, some explanations, footnotes, and comments. It was replaced with the original, a modern copy copied from an old copy, as appears from its chain of transmission at the beginning. It begins with the beginning of the Sahih, and the last is amputated. It ends with the hadiths in the chapter on the times during which prayer is forbidden from the Book of Travelers’ Prayer. It is interspersed with omissions in some places. The chapters are mostly written in red ink in the margins. The copy corresponds to the original and is corrected. It contains the caption at the end of the manuscript: Harmala bin Yahya al-Tajibi told us, Abdullah bin Wahb told us, Amr, who is Ibn al-Harith, told me on the authority of Bukayr, on the authority of Kurayb, the client of Ibn Abbas, that Abdullah bin Abbas, Abd al-Rahman bin Azhar, and al-Miswar bin Makhramah sent it to Aisha, the wife of the Prophet, may God bless him and grant him peace, and they said, “Read it to her.”
