Notes	A modern copy belonged to Ahmed Khairy, may God have mercy on him and us. He acquired it in the year 1355 AH, as is evident from his library seal affixed to the title page. The first leaf of it fell off, so Ahmed Khairy added it and completed its text in his well-known, clear, beautiful handwriting. He wrote a title for it: “Board of Al-Sakhawi in the Science of Ghubari Arithmetic” on an Egyptian-made engraving in which the parallel lines and the watermark in Frankish letters appear, and it is: Rejester paper and dated in the year 1830 AD. The text was written generally in dark brown, tangy, watery ink. The copyist used red ink to write the arithmetical numbers, chapters, etc., on a rough, brown-colored, French-made ink in which parallel lines and the commercial watermark appear. The copy has become wet at its upper edges, but this will not greatly affect the readability and clarity of the text.
