Notes The full title of the book is: ((The luminous pearls captured from the fresh suffixes of the rose gardens in the news of the imams of the Zaydiyyah and the adherents of the pure family and those who opposed them from the vanquishing sects of temptation, and jokes from the news of the kings of the pre-Islamic era and others who mentioned it from all over the wilderness)) The Book of the Fresh Suffixes, which is also called: The Exploits of the Righteous in detailing the summaries of Jawahir al-Akhbar, and it is an explanation of the poem The Small Smile, which is also called: Jawahir al-Akhbar in Biographies of the Good Imams by Sarim al-Din Ibrahim bin Muhammad bin Abdullah al-Hadawi, the minister who died in the year 914 AH. He compiled it on Bahr and narrated al-Basamah with the dove’s collars by Ibn Abdoun, and it was explained by al-Rahif or al-Zahif in the year 916 AH [Brockelmann Appendix 2/248]. A good modern copy. The copyist used dark tangy black ink in writing the explanation, and red ink in writing some of the heads of the poverty and marking in calligraphy on others and writing verses. The poem is on a European-made, white, satin mat featuring parallel lines and the trademark watermark. Verses of Ibn Abdoun’s poem are appended to it [from folio 194b onwards] in red ink.
