Date It dates back to 13 AH.
Notes A modern, naive copy that would have been almost perfect had not one leaf fallen from the end of it, which might have carried the date of its copying and the name of its copyist. Its author was a lowly forgery storyteller about whom we know nothing, nor the era in which he lived. Therefore, the opinions of the biographers differed about it, if some of the works that were read in popular gatherings and cafés were attributed to him, such as the crowned pearls of the venerable conquest of Mecca, the conquests of Yemen known as Ra’s al-Ghul, and other stories in which imagination and forgery played wildly. Far from attracting the common people and the demagogues, such as the story of Antara ibn Shaddad, the story of Al-Zeer Salem, the story of Dhat al-Himma, the story of the courtship of the slave girl, and many others like them. The text in them was written in dark brown ink in general, and the copyist used red ink to draw the triple divisions between the parts and miracles of the poetic verses and to write the beginnings and ends of the parts, on a french-made, rough, brown enamel in which parallel lines appear and the distinctive trademark watermark, which is a shield and a crescent inside it. With the face of a human being, on the title page appears an endowment entry, which reads: “The endowment of Imam Abdullah, who is Abdullah bin Faisal. The first leaf of it was omitted and a different handwriting was added to it on a modern inscription, at the end of which it is owned by the name of Abdul Rahman bin Ali bin Al-Sheikh.”
