Notes
A good old copy, which falls within the collection (42b-53a). The author mentioned two of his sheikhs, namely Ibn Jubayr and Al-Hafiz Abu Abdullah. As for Ibn Jubayr, he is not the famous traveler who died in the year 614 AH, because the author mentions multiple dates for his narration from this sheikh, the most recent of which is the year 740 AH. As for Al-Hafiz Abu Abdullah, he is Al-Dhahabi, who died in the year 748 AH. It appears that the author lived between the eighth and ninth century AH. He wrote the text in generally viscous black ink, and the copyist used red ink to write the headings of paragraphs, sentence breaks, and warning lines, on a Levantine-made Arabic scribe, in which appear some watercolor lines that were later imitated by paper factories, to which the trademark of this or that factory was added.
