Notes
A recent copy cut from the book The Beginning of Creation and History by Al-Mutahhar ibn Tahir Al-Maqdisi. This piece is part of the collection (64a-83a). The book has been widely attributed to Al-Balkhi (although Al-Nadim “Al-Fihrist 153 is an investigation of renewal”, such a book by him was not mentioned in what was mentioned of his books), and it was attached to the book: Khuraydah Al-Ajaib and Faridah Al-Gharaib by Ibn Al-Wardi, many pages of which were lost from the beginning, so their leaves were mixed up. The text was written in the Khuraydah. In general, in dark brown ink, on a French-made ink of Italian origin, in which parallel lines appear and the distinctive commercial watermark, which is in the form of three successive crescents. As for the beginning part, it was written on a modern, satin white ink in the handwriting of Muhammad bin Hamad Al-Asafi, may God have mercy on him and us, whom I know well. At the end of this fabricated letter from the book attributed to Al-Balkhi, and what is said at the end of it: “The book of Kharida al-Aja’ib and Farida al-Gharaib has been completed,” a poem appears on the horrors of the day. The author called the Resurrection: “The Necklace of Durr al-Manthur fi Dhikr al-Ba’th wa An-Nusur,” and it is by Abu Tahir Ibrahim bin Yahya bin Ghannam al-Harrani al-Maqdisi or al-Baghdadi al-Hanbali, who died in the year 674 or 779 AH (Dictionary of Authors 1/126). It was included by Omar bin Muzaffar, known as Ibn al-Wardi, who died in the year 749 AH (Dictionary of Authors 8/3) in his book Kharida al-Ajaib. As stated by Brockelmann (1/498 and its appendix 1/913), the beginning of it is: God is greater than what has been thought ~ and His rule in the wilderness is a mighty rule, a wise and knowledgeable master, one who is steadfast ~ living, ancient, willing, breaking the fast, and the end of this poem: O Lord, bless the guide who brings good news to us ~ and his family, and be victorious, O best victor. Junk wonders and unique curiosities...”

"... ووضعت الموازين ونشرت الدواوين ونطقت الجوارح وارتعدت الجوانح واتضحت القبايح وأزلفت الجنان وسيرت النيران ويرتعد الخطب الجسيم والهول العظيم فالمقعد المقيم إما بدار النعيم والرضوان وإما بدار الجحيم والنيران ...".
