Notes	A good old copy, truncated from the beginning, is included in the collection (32b-39a), corresponding to the original from which it was copied and corrected. It is included in a collection that was deliberately extracted from the book The Noble and Splendid Countries of Islam, and Mention of What Appeared to Me of God’s Hidden Judgment in Bringing the Turks Sect to the Lands of Egypt, by Muhammad Abi Hamid al-Qudsi al-Shafi’i, who died in the year 893 AH [Kahala 11/150 and Brockelmann. 2/132 and its appendix 2/51], and this is the practice of manuscript merchants, in which the text was written in faded brown ink on a Levantine ink dating back to the tenth century. The copy became very wet and damaged, leading to the appearance of spots here and there. One of the owners tried to restore it by pasting transparent sheets [rice paper] on each page of it, which obliterated many parts of the text. It was badly damaged, such that these sheets needed to be removed without damaging the text and to be restored artistically. Well done.
