A modern, truncated version, the first and the last, is included in the collection (158a-163b), [See: Al-‘Alam bi Fada’il al-Sham wa Damascus by Ibn al-Farkah], it is a colloquial story in which there was a lot of imagination and fabrication. It and others like it were read in public gatherings, and it was preceded by [folio 152a-154b] ((The story of the king and the mule and the strange words that happened in it and the strange singing matter)), the text was written. It is in black tungsten ink only, on a European-made, brown-coloured, satin tile, in which parallel lines and the trademark watermark appear. As for ((The Story of the King and the Mule...)) it was written on a Levantine, Arab-made, Levantine-style tile.
