Notes
A good, complete copy, corresponding to the original from which it was copied. The text was written in black, tangy, dark watery ink in its entirety, and the copyist used red ink to write extravagant paragraph headings, warning lines, dividing points between sentences, and so on, on two types of scripts; The first of them is: Oriental-made, brown in color, devoid of any lines or watermarks (folios 1-10). The second is: French-made, satin white, showing parallel lines and the distinctive commercial watermark, which is a cluster hanging from a crown. It contains 22 pictures of kings, sultans, Jewish rabbis, plants, and one animal, which is a parrot, and it shows the art of Iranian-Mongol painting. These drawings require close study by a specialist in this art. Append In the copy - without a break - (folios 68b-74b) The story of Ka’b Al-Ahbar with Othman bin Affan, may God be pleased with him, in creating the seven heavens and earths from a white pearl.. When God Almighty sent Daniel, peace and blessings be upon him, to the children of Israel, he was fond of science. Yathrib wrote an epic for him, and called it Al-Silak al-Nazim fi Alam al-Awwal al-Akhār... Poetry, Peace from the Most Gracious, Lord of the Wilderness ~ upon a nation that has been silent and maintained its prayers)), and here appear the beginnings of the influence and then the transfer of the famous Jewish epic of Daniel to Islamic literature and then dressing it in an Islamic garb. The copy was owned by Sheikh Ali al-Laithi and then by Ahmed Khairy, who acquired it in the year 1353 AH, as appears in his library seal on the title page.
