Notes	This manuscript contains a title in pencil, Alcobia (a book on medicine containing 347 pages), and in the index consisting of three pages, it deals with surgical operations in the means of preventing pain during operations: 1 - in vascular operations, 7 - in ligation of the arteries - in the surgical treatment of the anon, 8 - in ligation of the carotid artery, 14 - in amputation in general, in amputation in particular, 44 - in simple cutting of nerves, 63 - in separation operations 76 - In shaving the metatarsal bones, 97 - In the serratus hole of the skull, 110 - In opening the maxillary sinus, 113 - In shaving the chin, 117 - In oral operations, 112 - In cutting the airways, 177 - In the esophageal bridge, 186 - In chest operations, 196 - In breast operations, 203 - In abdominal operations, 209 - In abnormal anal operations, 223 - In reproductive organ operations, 272, and the numbering contained in the title page is inaccurate if it omits six pages containing the index, which are in the copyist’s handwriting, and at the same time the number of white pages in the text and he omitted others, and the modern numbering of the number of leaves is also inaccurate if the text includes completely white pages with their number and omits others. The text was written in black watery ink on light brown oriental paper.
Metin Başı (İncipit)	(في الوسائط الخاصة بمنع الألم وقت العمليات ـ قد فتش من سالف الأزمان على وسائط لتسكين الألم وقت فعل العمليات الجراحية وقد استعمل بعض الجراحين في الأزمنة المذكورة تعاطي الأفيون والمخدرات الأخر بكميات وافرة وقد استعملت وسائط آخرمن الباطنة وقد حفظها مخترعها كأسرار لهم وقد جرب في زماننا هذا الضغط على المراد فعل العملية فيه عند جملة جميع هذه الوسائط تستحسن إلى الأن التكاميد الجليدية ومع ذلك فإن هذه التكاليد المذكورة يكون لها تأثير على سير الجرح الذي يفعل ولكنه لم يتحصل على الغرض المقصود إلا في سنة 1262هـ هجرية التي فيها وصل استعمال الأيثيركبريتك من الأميريكا إلى الأوربا وانتشر فيها بسرعة عجيبة وبعد التاريخ المذكور بسنة ظهر الكلورفورم وكثر استعماله..).
