Tadjetdin Yalchigol’s book “Risal-i Gaziza” is an interpretation (sharkh) to the book “Subat al-hajizin (“Support of the Doomed”) by the Muslim theologian Sufi Allahyar (1616-1713). The book “Risala-i Gaziza” (“Message to Gaziza”) is addressed to Tadjetdin Yalchigol’s own daughter Gaziza, at whose request he wrote this book. This work, initially distributed in handwritten form, went through several editions in the pre-revolutionary period, becoming one of the most popular among Muslims of the Russian Empire. The book promotes traditional Islamic values, widespread among the Tatars since ancient times, as well as high morality and ethics (adab and akhlyak). |
