| Notes | "Tafsir al-Kashshaf" (تفسير الكشاف) by Imam al-Zamakhshari (d. 538 AH) is one of the most important classical interpretations of the Koran. The book stands out for its in-depth linguistic, rhetorical and grammatical analysis of the text, brilliantly revealing the linguistic miracle (i'jaz) of the Qur'an and its literary beauty. It is a recognized masterpiece in the field of understanding the Arabic eloquence of the Holy Scriptures. Important: The author adhered to the Mu'tazilite theological school, which influenced some of his interpretations, especially in matters of belief. For this reason, the book is studied with caution by Sunni scholars. Despite its theological nuances, Al-Kashshaf remains an indispensable source for those seeking to deeply understand the linguistic precision and rhetorical perfection of the Qur'an. The text of the book is also accompanied by four additional books, each of which complements and clarifies the interpretation: Al-Intisaf is the work of Imam Ahmad ibn al-Munir al-Alexandri. It is a critical commentary in which the author identifies and discusses the Mu'tazili ideas of Zamakhshari, refuting them from the perspective of Sunni theology. Al-Kafi al-Shafi is the work of hadith scholar Ibn Hajar al-Askalani. It provides the sources of the hadiths mentioned in al-Kashshaf, indicating their reliability and degree of authority. Hashiya (notes) by Sheikh Muhammad 'Aliyan al-Marzuqi - detailed explanations of the text of al-Kashshafa, which clarify the linguistic and semantic aspects of the interpretation. "Mashahid al-Insaf" by the same Sheikh Muhammad 'Aliyan is a work dedicated to the poetic examples (shavahid) used by Zamakhshari, with an explanation of their meaning and role in the interpretation of the Koran. Together, these works help to better understand the text of al-Kashshafa, clarifying its hadith basis, theological nuances and linguistic features. |
