The book “Tarikh al-Mushaf al-Sharif” (‘Abd al-Fattah al-Qadhi) is a thorough study of the history of the Holy Quran - from the revelation of revelations to the Prophet Muhammad, sallallahu ‘alaihi wa sallam, to the stages of recording, collecting and standardizing the mushaf. The author examines the stages of compilation of the Qur'an under the reign of Abu Bakr and 'Uthman radiyallahu 'anhum, the history of calligraphic traditions and the development of copying machines, as well as key points related to the preservation, reproduction and dissemination of the text of the Qur'an in the Islamic world.
