Notes
The book of the outstanding Tatar religious figure and thinker Musa Jarullah Bigeev (1875-1949) “Halyk nazaryna bernichә mәsәlә” (“Several problems for the attention of the public”) absorbed the most important problems that the scientist had previously brought to the attention of the public. This work of the outstanding Tatar theologian seems no less interesting and relevant even in our time. It was written during the period of Musa Bigeev’s highest scientific, theological and social activity, relating to the early period of his creative biography that lasted from 1904 to 1917. In this regard, the proposed book represents a unique cross-section of the creative biography of an outstanding thinker. The mentioned years for Musa Bigeev were the period of his formation as a religious renovator, an extraordinary thinker. He was full of strength, energy, fresh ideas and an unshakable determination to bring them to life. Musa Bigeev also declared himself as an active public figure, teacher, publisher, publicist and one of the prominent participants in the Tatar national liberation movement. By the will of fate, the mentioned segment of Musa Bigeev’s life path coincided in time with the beginning of the process of a comprehensive, stormy and vibrant cultural and civilizational renaissance of the Tatar people. We dare to suggest that it was precisely this circumstance that determined the content and genre stylistics of the work in question. Indeed, what we have before us is not a classic theological treatise, but a collection of articles written in the journalistic genre, which touch upon and examine the most pressing, from the author’s point of view, social, cultural, religious and ethical problems facing the Tatar Muslim public. Thus, the published work of the scientist is a mirror in which certain aspects of the life of Tatar society at the beginning of the twentieth century are reflected. (Ph.D. Khairutdinov A.G.)
