Notes Muhammad Amin ibn Umar ad-Dimashki, better known as Ibn Abidin (1784 - 1836, Damascus, Syria). Islamic theologian, one of the most prominent Muslim jurists of the Ottoman Empire. Author of more than 50 works on Islamic law, commentaries of the Koran, refutation of sects and movements. His most famous work, the multi-volume work “Radd al-Mukhtar ala ad-Durr al-Mukhtar”, is still considered the best book on Islamic law of the Hanafi school. The presented work is the third volume of the above-mentioned work. The third volume of the work “Radd al-Mukhtar ala ad-Durr al-Mukhtar”, dedicated to issues of Hanafi law, is a commentary on the work of another outstanding Muslim jurist of the Hanafi school, Imam al-Haskafi. The third volume deals in detail with issues of Islamic law relating to trade, pledge, lease, etc. A special feature of this work is the author’s mention of different points of view on key issues, differences of opinion, as well as an indication of the preferred opinion on each issue. The work of Imam Ibn Abidin was highly valued among educated Tatars and was often found in the libraries of Tatar religious figures.
