The book Manaqib Abi Hanifa is a biographical and laudatory work dedicated to the life, teaching and merits of one of the greatest Islamic scholars - Imam Abu Hanifa (Nu'man ibn Thabit). The author, Abul-Qasim Sharafuddin bin Abd al-Alim, collected in this work stories of piety, knowledge, fear of God and the outstanding contribution of Abu Hanifa to the development of Islamic jurisprudence (fiqh).
The work belongs to the genre of “manaqib” - literature describing the virtues and spiritual merits of outstanding personalities. The book also contains stories about his students, relationships with rulers, trials, and arguments in defense of his teachings and methodology.
