Sample Text The Mufasir (interpreter of the Qur'an) may have difficulty understanding the meaning of the words or may interpret them according to the limitations of his own circumstances. Precisely because of this fact, some scholars divided tafsirbir-raj (rational interpretation) into two categories: tafsirmamduh (praiseworthy tafsir) and tafsirmadumuma (tafsir worthy of condemnation). Tafsirmadumuma is a tafsir that mainly relies on daif (weak) and maud (false) traditions, did not consider the views of the sahaba (Muhammad's followers), did not have the Arabic language in mind when interpreting, and did not deal with phenomena that agree with the meaning given by the Arabs.
