| Sample Text | The manuscripts is very well preserved. It bears a sealing of Omer Aga, well known as Pasban zade, the previous owner of the book. Traces of conservation are also notable on the manuscript. One of three specimens of this famous work, in the best condition among them all. The contents of the manuscript is Islamic mysticism, teaching of Sufis, Islamic brotherhood with specific religion practice which involves oral method of transfer of knowledge. Sufis (also known as dervishes) had many orders throughout Islamic world with distinctive practice such as Rumi's whirling dervishes in Konya, or Bekteshis who used to experience a kind of trance and pierced themselves with knives, swords and other objects without leaving blood traces as a proof of their faith. Simliar to them were Naqshbandis in Central Asia who practiced exercices of breathing with the same effect, and so on. Year of publishing: 1645. |
