| Sample Text | Jalaluddin as-Suyuti (c. 1445-1505 CE), also known as Ibn al-Qutub (Son of the Book) was an Egyptian writer, historian, religious scholar, jurist, and teacher whose works deal with a wide range of issues in Islamic theology. He matured early and already in 1462 he became a teacher. In 1486, he was appointed manager of the Bajbara Mosque in Cairo. He belonged to the Shafi'i legal school and is considered one of the later authorities of that school since he was an ashabun-nazar (assistant judge) whose level of ijtihad was authoritative. |
