| Sample Text | In 619 Muhammad's wife Khadija and his uncle Abu Talib died, the year is therefore known as the year of mourning. After the death of Abu Talib, the leadership of the Banu Hashim clan was transferred to Abu Lahab, a staunch enemy of Muhammad. Soon after, Abu Lahab ended his patronage of Muhammad. Thus, Muhammad was put in mortal danger, since the withdrawal of the protection of the clan implied that no blood revenge would be sought for his murder. Muhammad then went to Tajif, another important city in Arabia and tried to find a protector there, but his effort was in vain and put him in even more physical danger. Muhammad was forced to return to Mecca. A resident of Makkah under the name of Mut'im b. Adi (and the protection of the Banu Naufal tribe) allowed him to return safely to his hometown.
