| Sample Text | Among the numerous manuscripts of the numerous manuscript collections compiled in the first century after the Hijra are the following: As-Sahifat as-Sadiq by Abd Allah ibn Amr ibn al-As (died 63), which initially contained about a thousand hadiths of which five hundred have come down to us, which were written down by Abd Allah directly from the Prophet and transmitted to them through his great-grandson Amr ibn Shuayb (died 118 A.H.); As-Sahifa as-Sahiha by Hamam ibn Munabih (died 101 or 131 A.H.) which has come down to us complete in two manuscripts containing one hundred and thirty-eight hadiths narrated by Hamam from the Prophet through Abu Hurayra (died 60 A.H.).
