| Sample Text | Question: Please advise me how Islamic literature should be disposed of. I have a lot of Islamic magazines, pamphlets and newspapers at home. I know that it is not allowed to throw them in the trash because they contain verses from the Quran, the name of Allah and hadiths. What is the best way to dispose of such magazines? Answer: Islamic literature can be disposed of by burying it. Islamic literature should be buried in some remote place where no one usually walks. Some jurists also recommended that such literature be placed under running water until the ink used to write the name of Allah, verses from the Koran, and Islamic inscriptions is washed away. The paper should then be buried. It would not be convenient to burn those pages or literature because it is an act of disrespect. And Allah knows better. |
