| Sample Text | Classical Arabic originates from the central and northern parts of the Arabian Peninsula and differs from the old South Arabian languages that were spoken in the southern part of the peninsula, in present-day Yemen. Classical Arabic is the only surviving descendant of the ancient North Arabian languages. The oldest inscription discovered to date in classical Arabic dates back to 328 AD and is known as the Namara inscription, recorded in the Nabatean alphabet and named after the place where it was found in southern Syria in April 1901. |
