| Sample Text | Indian Islamic jurists have issued a fatwa as a death sentence to Taslima Nasrin, the exiled controversial writer from Bangladesh. Majidullah Khan Farhadiz Bahao Tehrik, of the Hyderabad Mosque, issued the fatwa at the Tipu Sultan Mosque in Calcutta after Friday prayers saying that Taslima had disgraced Islam and announced an "unlimited financial reward" to anyone who killed her. In 1998, Grand Ayatollah Sistani of Iraq issued a fatwa banning Professor Abdulaziz Sahedina of the University of Virginia from continuing to teach Islam because his writings encouraged the acceptance of religious pluralism in the Islamic world.
