| Sample Text | In the Sunni tradition, the number of such texts is ten thousand, more or less several thousand. But if, say, ten followers of Muhammad write down some text that talks about some unpleasant event in the life of the prophet, hadith experts can count ten thousand of them. Therefore, Musnad Ahmad, for example, contains more than thirty thousand hadiths, but this also includes texts that are repeated to record even the most subtle differences within the text or within the chain of narration. Identification of the narrators of different texts, comparing their narrations with the same texts in order to identify both the most correct report of the text and the narrators who testify most correctly about the hadith experts during the second century after the Hijra. |
