According to Ibn Ishaq, Muhammad's tribe, the powerful Quraysh, were extremely concerned about their tribesman who had begun to pass himself off as a prophet, so they wanted advice from a rabbi on the matter. The Quraish tribe sent two men to the rabbis of Medina with the reason that they have greater knowledge of the holy scriptures and the prophets of God. Two men from Quraysh described their tribesman Muhammad to the rabbis. Year of publication: 1622/23.
