| Sample Text | Sharia (shari'a, literally the path that leads to the place of water) is Islamic law composed by traditional Islamic jurists to which most Islamic groups belong. Sharia in Islam is an expression of divine will and contains a system of duties that are obligatory for a Muslim by virtue of his religious feeling. Islamic law covers all aspects of life, from affairs of the state, such as administration and foreign affairs, to matters of daily life. The Koran defines hudud as punishments for five specific offenses; unlawful sexual intercourse, false accusation of unlawful sexual intercourse, consumption of alcoholic beverages, theft and highway theft. |
