| Sample Text | Sura at-Tauba (Arabic: Suratu at-Tawbah, repentance), also known as al-Baraa, the ultimatum, in numerous hadiths represents the ninth chapter of the Qur'an with 129 verses. It is one of the last Medinan surahs. It is the only surah of the Qur'an that does not begin with bismillah. The opening verses of this surah were revealed during the war as it is in the context of the Battle of Tabuk. When the Qur'an was first compiled, there was only one man who had the last verse of the Taubah written down, and that was Abu Huzayma al-Ansari, although it was known and memorized by all the companions. |
