| Sample Text | The ijtihad brought by the prophet was a precedent for the sahaba and later Muslims which clearly proved the legitimacy of ijtihad so that they had to use ijtihad only to make judgments when they could not find a legal rule in the Qur'an or Sunnah. In addition, probably to support and become this concept, the Prophet Muhammad was able to order some followers to make ijtihad on certain issues in his presence.
