| Sample Text | Islamic philosophers were very interested in expressing the relationship between logic and language, and they discussed a lot the question of the subject of study and the goals of logic in relation to thinking and speaking. In the field of formal logical analysis, they developed a theory of terms, premises and syllogisms as formulated by Aristotle in Categories, Interpretation and First Analytics. They considered, in the spirit of Aristotle, that the syllogism is the form to which all rational argumentation can be reduced, so they considered the syllogistic theory to be the central point of logic. |
