Sample Text Sala is an Arabic word whose basic meaning is connection. When used in the Serbian language, the meaning of the word is almost always reduced to the Islamic formal, obligatory prayer. Translating the word sala as prayer is usually not considered precise enough, since prayer can indicate several different types of relationship to God. In the past, the sala was usually called the connection prayer, the obligatory prayer, the formal prayer, etc., but the normal academic practice is to use the Arabic word for the prayer. Year of publication: 1676.
