| Sample Text | Hadith Qudsi (or holy hadith) is under the category of hadiths that represent the sayings of Muhammad. Muslims consider hadith qudsi to be the words of God repeated by Muhammad and recorded under the condition of isnad. According to al-Sayyid al-Sharif al-Jurjani, hadith qudsi differs from the Qur'an in that the former was revealed in a dream or through revelation and "is expressed in the words of Muhammad" while the latter represents "the direct words of God." An example of hadith qudsi is the hadith of Abu Hurairah who said that Muhammad said: "When God ordered the creation, he vowed by writing in his book that was laid with him: My mercy is stronger than my wrath."
