| Sample Text | A large number of dialects arose in the area of the Arabian Peninsula, which were sporadically recorded by later medieval grammarians of the Arabic language. Extremely complex heroic poetry was created from the sixth century AD in a speech characterized by inflectional endings that did not exist in many dialects. There is still a debate about whether the inflectional endings disappeared long before the advent of Islam or whether they were lost during the period of the early Arab conquests and when foreign peoples adopted the Arabic language en masse.
