Sample Text Sunni Islam was not a singular movement or the result of one's approach to religion, but rather a broad tradition arising from a diverse and organic development in the early Islamic community. Among the most important components of Sunnism is the perspective, which developed from the first to the third century of the Islamic era, which privileged the Islamic community and its unity as a religious ideal. This perspective also strengthened the primacy of the Prophet's companions, especially Abu Bakr and Umar, and most importantly emphasized adherence to the Prophet's custom, his Sunnah, as the path of valid Islamic religiosity and the legitimacy of Islamic identity. Year of publication: 1692/93.
