| Sample Text | Sharia (Arabic: شريا, path or path) is a code of conduct or Islamic religious law. Most Muslims believe that Sharia derives from two original sources of Islamic law: the precepts established in the Koran and the example set by Muhammad in the Sunna. Fiqh legislation interprets and extends the application of Sharia to matters not directly addressed in primary sources by introducing secondary sources. These secondary sources usually include the consensus of religious scholars embodied in ijma and analogy from the Qur'an and Sunnah through qiyas. Shia jurists prefer to apply judgment (aql) rather than analogy to address difficult issues. Year of issue: 1454. |
