Sample Text Arabic is a member of the Semitic language group. The terms Classical Arabic and Modern Standard Arabic are used to denote its medieval and modern variants. Classical Arabic is codified in the Koran. Modern Standard Arabic (SSA) differs from Classical Arabic (KA) only in vocabulary and stylistic features; morphology and syntax remained essentially unchanged throughout the centuries. SSA is the official language used for writing, education, literature and formal situations. While Standard Arabic is formally learned at school or at home as part of a child's education, Standard Arabic is reduced to formal written and spoken occasions. Regional and social varieties of Arabic are used in all other circumstances. Year of publication: 1802.
